Flaw in The Manual

The bible gives us an opportunity to understand the character and heart of God, yet even Christian’s try to mold the bible to their likes and dislikes. Unknowingly we challenge the word of God when we go against one of God’s commands. Now this might be passively questioning the application of the scriptures to modern day circumstances.

The Great Escape Part 2 Acts 16:25

For some reason we seem to give Satan more attention than he deserves. Whether we realize it or not, we honor and glorify Satan by giving him the attention that should be given to Jesus. Some Christians seem to give Satan credit for every bad thing that happens in their lives. When actually it is the consequences of their own bad decisions, not Satan.

The Great Escape Part 1

[Act 16:25 NIV] 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
We see Paul and Silas in prison and beaten. They could have easily been lamenting over their situation and blaming Satan for the current situation, but instead these men decided to glorify and praise God. It is easy to think that our situation dictates God’s worthiness for praise, but this is not true.

Regardless of our condition or situation, whether at the fault of Satan or self-inflicted, God is worthy of praise, because He is worthy of prayers, praise, and worship regardless of who we are or our current situation.

Discipleship

[Mat 28:19-20 NIV] 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Depart From Me

Mat 7:21-23 NIV - "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

The above verses are the most chilling verses in the New Testament, but important enough that Jesus mentioned these verses near the end of one of His teachings. As it is with many topics in the scriptures, there are several camps of thought on the meaning of this message. We have a unique passage here where Jesus is saying what He will say to certain individuals attempting to enter Heaven. This article will discuss several aspects of the above scriptures, with no desire to support any particular doctrine on salvation … of which there are many.

Priestly Stones

There has been little written about the gemstones that are named in the Bible, that seem to be of some importance. The interesting thing about it is realizing that there is some significance for these gemstones, although we may not know what it is here on earth, we can only speculate.

We see in scripture where Almighty God is speaking of Lucifer and how glorious he was before the fall. The whole passage is in Ezekiel 28:11-19, but for time sake, I will limit it to just Ezekiel 28:11-13

Substitute Teacher

Mat 23:8 - But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.

This verse is one of those teachings by Jesus that seems opposite to all the thinking we have about teachers. He says you are not be be called a teacher, yet we see in the letters from the Apostle Paul that teachers are a part of his plan for the church.
